TikTok Launches AI Avatars to Replace Human Influencers in Advertising
TikTok has upgraded its Symphony AI platform to help brands create videos using virtual influencers. These AI avatars can act like real people by holding products, trying on clothes, and showing how apps work on a phone. Brands simply upload product images and write a short prompt, and the system creates realistic videos that look like influencer content. This new tool makes it easier and cheaper for companies to produce videos, since thereās no need for filming or working with real influencers. It also lets brands create unlimited content quickly, helping them keep up with the fast pace of social media.
Meta to release smart glasses with Oakley and Prada
Meta is working with Oakley and Prada to release new AI-powered smart glasses, following the success of its Ray-Ban smart glasses launched in 2023. The Oakley glasses, made with Luxottica, will launch on June 20 and are designed for athletes and active users who want to record activities like tennis or skiing. They may cost around $360 and offer better weather resistance. The Prada partnership is Metaās first move into luxury fashion smart glasses. Pradaās thick frame designs are also a good match for smart glasses tech, making it easier to include microphones, cameras, and chips. The release date for the Prada glasses hasnāt been announced yet.
Adobe made a mobile app for its Firefly generative AI tools
Adobeās new Firefly app is now available on both iPhone and Android, making it easy for users to create AI-generated images and videos on the go using simple text prompts. The app includes popular tools like Generative Fill and Generative Expand, which are also found in Photoshop, and now supports both Adobeās own Firefly models and third-party AI models like Googleās Imagen 3 and 4, Veo 2 and 3, and OpenAIās image generator. Users can create visuals directly from text or turn images into videos, then access their creations through their Creative Cloud account for further editing on desktop or web. Some features in the app require Firefly credits, which come with a paid Creative Cloud subscription or can be purchased separately.
