Google’s Titans Give AI Human-Like Memory

Google researchers have created a new AI system called Titans that helps AI models remember information over the long term, much like how humans recall past events. Traditional AI systems struggle with long-term memory and often forget information after a session. Titans solves this by allowing AI models to store and use information for longer periods. It can handle over two million tokens of data, far more than previous models. The system uses three methods—Memory as Context (MAC), Memory as Gating (MAG), and Memory as a Layer (MAL)—to store and manage memory depending on the task. Additionally, Titans introduces a surprise-based learning system, which helps the AI focus on remembering unexpected or important details. This design improves the AI’s ability to retain and recall context over time, allowing for more accurate and human-like memory.

Microsoft Launches Windows AI Search Feature Test to Enhance File Search Experience

Microsoft has introduced a new AI-powered search feature in the latest Windows 11 release for testers in the Insider program. Users can access the games by tapping the new controller icon in the browser while chatting with a character. Speakeasy challenges players to make the AI chatbot say a specific word while avoiding five predetermined words. For example, to get the chatbot to say "croissant," players must refrain from using words like "pastry" or "French." War of Words offers a competitive experience where users duel with characters in a five-round contest, with an AI referee determining the winner after each round. These games aim to add a fun, interactive layer to the platform, allowing users to enjoy both entertainment and text-based conversations with their favorite characters.
