🔥 What’s Hot in AI News:

Meta reportedly in talks to invest billions of dollars in Scale AI

Meta is reportedly in talks to invest over $10 billion in Scale AI, a major provider of data labeling services used to train artificial intelligence models. This would be Meta’s largest external AI investment and one of the biggest ever for a private company. Scale AI, led by CEO Alexandr Wang, works with major tech firms like Microsoft and OpenAI, and recently built a military-focused language model called Defense Llama using Meta’s Llama 3. The company made $870 million in revenue last year and expects to hit $2 billion this year. Meta had previously joined Scale AI’s $1 billion Series F funding round, which valued the startup at $13.8 billion.

OpenAI updates ChatGPT’s voice mode with more natural-sounding speech

OpenAI has improved ChatGPT’s voice mode to make conversations feel more natural and expressive. The updated feature now includes subtler intonation, realistic pauses, better emphasis, and clearer emotional expression—like empathy or sarcasm—making it sound more human. It also introduces better support for real-time translation: you can ask ChatGPT to interpret between languages, and it will continue translating as the conversation goes on until you say otherwise. This upgraded voice mode is available to all paid ChatGPT users across different platforms and regions. However, OpenAI notes there may still be minor issues, such as slight changes in tone or pitch, unexpected sounds, or occasional background noises.

Microsoft Plans to Rank AI Models by Safety

Microsoft is adding a new “safety” ranking to its AI model leaderboard, which already rates models by quality, cost, and speed. This move is meant to help businesses using its Azure cloud platform make more informed and trusted decisions when choosing from over 1,900 AI models, including those from OpenAI, xAI, DeepSeek, and Mistral. As companies worry about data privacy and the risks of autonomous AI agents, Microsoft wants to give them clearer insight into how safe each model is. The new ranking aims to build trust and simplify the process of comparing models, especially for organizations handling sensitive tasks like finance and compliance.

UK financial regulator partners with Nvidia in AI 'sandbox'

The UK’s financial regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), has teamed up with Nvidia to create a “Supercharged Sandbox”—a controlled testing environment where financial firms can trial new AI tools starting this October 2025. Through this program, companies (especially smaller ones) gain access to Nvidia’s powerful computing systems, tailored AI software, expert guidance, expanded data resources, and regulatory support. The FCA aims to boost innovation and support market consumers safely, while Finance Minister Rachel Reeves praised the collaboration as essential to reduce barriers, spur economic growth, and foster AI-powered improvements in areas like fraud detection, risk management, automation, and data analysis.
