🔥 What’s Hot in AI News:
Netflix Is Getting a ChatGPT Makeover
Netflix is testing new AI features to make it easier for users to discover shows and movies. One of the key updates is a generative AI-powered search on iOS, where users can type natural phrases like “I want something funny and upbeat” to get personalized recommendations. This smart search aims to make finding content feel more natural and conversational.
Connecting GitHub to ChatGPT deep research
OpenAI now lets you connect your GitHub account to ChatGPT using a tool called “deep research.” This means ChatGPT can look through your code and files in the repos you choose and help answer questions using your own work—for example, finding where you handle file uploads. You can connect GitHub by going to ChatGPT settings, clicking on “Connected apps,” and following the steps to give access. It’s available for Team users now and slowly coming to Plus and Pro users (not yet in the UK, EEA, or Switzerland). Your data stays private, and it’s not used to train AI unless you turn on the option to help improve the model. It might take a few minutes for your repos to show up after you connect them.
Google rolls out AI tools to protect Chrome users against scams
Google is adding new AI tools to Chrome to better protect users from online scams. It’s using Gemini Nano, a smart on-device AI, to quickly spot and block scam websites—even ones that haven’t been seen before—especially for users with Enhanced Protection turned on. On Android, Chrome will also warn users about suspicious or spammy notifications from websites, giving them the option to unsubscribe or continue if they trust the site.
Microsoft bans employees from using the DeepSeek app over data and propaganda concerns
Microsoft has banned its employees from using the DeepSeek chatbot app due to concerns about data security and possible influence from the Chinese government. The company’s president, Brad Smith, said the app stores user data in China, where laws may require sharing that data with the government. Microsoft is also worried that DeepSeek might spread propaganda or censor information. Although Microsoft briefly offered DeepSeek’s open-source model on its Azure cloud, it made changes to reduce risks. The ban shows Microsoft’s strong focus on protecting data and avoiding tools it sees as unsafe.
