Google’s Gemini 2.5 Pro AI Model Now Free for All Users

Google has announced that its advanced AI model, Gemini 2.5 Pro, is now free for all users. Previously available only to Gemini Advanced subscribers, it can now be accessed through Google AI Studio and the Gemini app, though free users will have some limits. This AI model features improved reasoning, problem-solving, and decision-making, making it more accurate in fields like coding, math, and science. Google designed it to break down complex problems and provide smarter, more context-aware responses, and future versions of Gemini will continue to build on these enhanced thinking capabilities.

Apple is reportedly updating the Health app to add an AI coach

Apple is developing a new version of its Health app featuring an AI-powered coach designed to help users improve their well-being. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the feature is expected to launch with iOS 19.4 in spring or summer 2026. The AI coach will provide personalized health advice based on data collected from users' medical devices and is expected to include food tracking. Apple is currently training the AI with insights from staff physicians and plans to collaborate with more doctors to create health-related video content. The new service is tentatively named Health+.

Elon Musk says he sold X to his AI company

Elon Musk announced that he has sold his social media company, X (formerly Twitter), to his AI company, xAI, for $45 billion, including $12 billion in debt, valuing X at $33 billion. Musk said the deal will help combine xAI’s AI expertise with X’s large user base to create smarter and more meaningful experiences, with xAI’s Grok chatbot already integrated into the platform. Since buying X in 2022, Musk has made major changes, including cutting 80% of staff, altering the verification system, and reinstating banned accounts, leading some advertisers to leave and causing the platform’s value to drop. However, recent estimates suggest X’s worth has improved. This sale may also help Musk streamline his focus, as concerns have grown about how much time he spends on Tesla and his other businesses due to his involvement in government work.

Amazon unveils new feature in Photos app to allow users shop directly from images

Amazon has introduced an AI-powered shopping feature in its Photos app, allowing users to find and purchase products by searching their photo library. If someone sees a stylish outfit, a cool gadget, or a unique home decor item in their pictures, they can now use the app to find similar products on Amazon without typing a search. By selecting a photo and tapping the Lens icon, the AI scans the image, detects recognizable items, and suggests visually similar products with direct shopping links. Users can then compare options, check prices, and make a purchase—all in just a few taps. This feature makes shopping faster and more convenient, eliminating the need for manual searches and helping users discover products effortlessly.
