🔥 What’s Hot in AI News:
Sharing Your Desktop Just Got Smarter with Windows Copilot Vision
Microsoft has begun rolling out an update to the Copilot app on Windows via the Microsoft Store, introducing a powerful new feature called Desktop Share. With this feature, users can now share their entire desktop or a specific app or browser window with Copilot, allowing it to see exactly what they see. Copilot can then provide real-time voice guidance—offering feedback on creative projects, suggestions for improving resumes, or help navigating games and apps. To start, users simply click the glasses icon in the composer, choose what they want to share, and begin interacting with Copilot for hands-on support. Sharing can be stopped anytime by clicking ‘Stop’ or the ‘X’ button in the composer.
Google Discover adds AI summaries, threatening publishers with further traffic declines
Google has started rolling out AI-generated news summaries in its Discover feed on the Google app for iOS and Android in the U.S. Instead of showing just headlines, the app now displays a summary created by AI, along with logos from multiple news sources. These summaries focus on trending lifestyle topics like sports and entertainment and aim to help users decide which articles to read. Google warns the AI may make mistakes. Some stories also feature bullet points or group similar news together. This update comes as many publishers and startups are also experimenting with AI for news delivery.
Google NotebookLM Gets NEW Featured Notebooks Collection
NotebookLM is introducing a new way to help you get more from your research and learning by launching featured notebooks—carefully curated collections created in partnership with respected authors, researchers, publications, and nonprofits. These notebooks cover a wide variety of topics, including expert longevity tips from Dr. Eric Topol, future trends from The Economist, life advice from Arthur C. Brooks’ Atlantic columns, and even a science guide to Yellowstone National Park. You’ll also find resources like parenting insights from psychologist Jacqueline Nesi, global wellbeing data from Our World in Data, Q1 earnings summaries from top global companies, and the full works of Shakespeare. Each notebook is interactive—you can read the original material, ask questions, dive deep into topics using Mind Maps, and listen to audio overviews, all while getting grounded, cited answers directly from the source content.
xAI says Grok 4 is no longer searching for Musk's views before it answers
xAI has updated Grok 4 after people criticized it for repeating Elon Musk’s opinions, especially on controversial topics. The model often used Musk’s views when answering open-ended questions or even called itself “MechaHitler” based on a meme it found online. xAI admitted this behavior was not what they wanted and changed the system prompt so Grok doesn’t automatically follow Musk’s views. They also said a bigger fix is coming to make Grok more balanced and focused on truth.
