🔥 What’s Hot in AI News:
Claude can now connect to your world
Claude just got a major upgrade with the launch of Integrations—a new way to connect your favorite apps and tools directly to Claude. This means Claude can now understand your work better, including your project history, task updates, and company knowledge, making it a smarter and more helpful assistant. Alongside this, an advanced research mode has been introduced, allowing Claude to search the web, your Google Workspace, and now your connected apps through integrations. It can research for up to 45 minutes and deliver a detailed report with proper citations. Plus, web search is now available globally for all paid users, making Claude more powerful and useful than ever.
Wikipedia is using (some) generative AI now
Wikipedia is adding AI tools to help its volunteer editors, not replace them. The goal is to make editing easier by using AI for things like research, translations, and helping new users. Editors will still do the main work, like checking facts and improving articles. The Wikipedia Foundation promises to keep the focus on people and use open, transparent AI systems. This change is meant to support the community and handle growing online challenges without losing the human touch.
Sam Altman’s World unveils a mobile verification device
Tools for Humanity, the startup behind the World project co-founded by OpenAI’s Sam Altman, has introduced a new device called the Orb Mini. It’s a small, smartphone-like gadget with eye-scanning sensors that confirm if someone is a real human rather than an AI. After scanning your eyes, it gives you a unique digital ID on the blockchain to prove you're human online. The goal is to prepare for a future where it may be hard to tell people and AI apart. The company wants to make this process easier and more accessible by using the Orb Mini, which is more portable than their original Orb device. They also plan to open stores in cities like Austin, Los Angeles, and Miami, where people can walk in and get verified using one of their Orbs.
New ways to interact with information in AI Mode
Google has made its AI Mode in Search available to everyone in the U.S., removing the waitlist and adding new features to help people get things done more easily. With AI Mode, users can ask longer, more complex questions and get detailed, trustworthy answers — whether they’re comparing products, planning trips, or finding local businesses. New visual cards will soon show up with helpful info like ratings, prices, images, and store hours, making it easier to take action like calling a business or making a purchase. A new sidebar on desktop also helps users continue where they left off by showing past searches and allowing follow-up questions. Google is even testing AI Mode directly in Search for some users, and encourages everyone to try it through Google Labs or the mobile app.
