🔥 What’s Hot in AI News:
Apple Watch to Get AI Features, Cameras Soon
Apple is reportedly planning to add cameras to its Apple Watch to enhance AI-powered features by visually observing the user’s environment and delivering relevant information. The regular Apple Watch may have a camera inside its display, while the high-end Apple Watch Ultra could feature a side camera near the buttons. Earlier, reports suggested Apple was also considering adding cameras to AirPods for AI-driven capabilities. However, the company is facing challenges with its Apple Intelligence system on iPhones, delaying the release of a more advanced Siri until 2026 due to technical issues and software bugs.
Browser Use, the tool making it easier for AI ‘agents’ to navigate websites, raises $17M
Startup Browser Use has raised $17 million in seed funding to improve how AI tools interact with websites. The company’s technology converts website buttons and elements into a simpler, text-based format, making it easier for AI agents to navigate and perform tasks more reliably at a lower cost. Part of Y Combinator’s Winter 2025 batch, the startup gained attention after its use in a viral AI tool, leading to increased adoption by other companies. With growing interest in AI-powered web interactions, Browser Use aims to become a fundamental layer in this space.
Alexa Plus is coming to most Echo devices
The upgraded Alexa Plus voice assistant will launch in the coming weeks as an early access preview. It will be available on Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21 smart displays and work across compatible Echo devices, Fire TV, Fire tablets, Alexa.com, and the Alexa app. However, some older Echo models, like the first-gen Echo Dot, Echo, and Echo Show, won’t get the update. Devices with built-in Alexa, such as Sonos speakers and Ecobee smart thermostats, won’t support it at launch, though compatibility may be added later.
OpenAI and Meta Platforms in Talks with Reliance to Explore Potential AI Partnerships
OpenAI and Meta are in talks with Reliance Industries to explore AI collaborations, including the potential distribution of ChatGPT via Reliance Jio. OpenAI is also considering lowering the ChatGPT Plus subscription fee, though it's unclear if this is part of the discussions. Reliance has proposed selling OpenAI’s models to businesses through APIs and hosting them locally to comply with India's data sovereignty rules. Meta, which has previously invested in Jio, is also looking to expand its AI presence in India. A key part of these talks is Reliance’s plan to build a three-gigawatt AI-ready data center in Gujarat, powered by green energy, to support AI operations. While no official confirmation has been made, these partnerships could significantly impact India's AI landscape.
