OpenAI and Arianna Huffington are building an AI health coach for you
OpenAI and Arianna Huffington's Thrive Global are launching Thrive AI Health to create an AI-driven personalized health coach. Funded by the OpenAI Startup Fund and strategic investors, the initiative aims to improve health outcomes through tailored advice on sleep, diet, exercise, and stress management. Former Google product management leader DeCarlos Love will serve as CEO. While AI coaching offers potential benefits, practical challenges like resource availability remain.
Anthropic introduces new feature to evaluate prompts in developer console
Anthropic has introduced a new feature in their Claude console to assist AI developers by adding an "Evaluate" tab. This tool allows developers to generate prompts, automate test case creation, and compare outputs directly, enhancing prompt development efficiency. The Evaluation tool, accessible through the Anthropic Console, enables thorough testing using Claude-generated data and manual or CSV entries. Developers can run multiple test cases simultaneously and compare prompt outputs side by side to understand the impact of changes, streamlining adjustments. This feature is currently in beta and available to all developers on the platform.
Bumble users can now report profiles that use AI-generated photos
Bumble has introduced a new reporting option allowing users to report profiles suspected of using AI-generated photos and videos. This move aims to combat the rise of AI-generated profiles used to deceive or scam users. Users can now select “Fake profile” and choose “Using AI-generated photos or videos” when reporting suspicious profiles. This initiative follows Bumble's "Deception Detector," which uses AI and human moderation to reduce fake profiles, resulting in a 45% decrease in reports of spam and scams. Bumble continues to enhance its technology to ensure a safer and more trustworthy dating environment.
Google brings new Gemini features and Wear OS 5 to Samsung devices
Google has introduced new features for Samsung devices, including updates to its Gemini for Android app for foldables, expanded "Circle to Search" capabilities for math equations and QR codes, and YouTube's multiview on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Samsung's new Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra will ship with Google's Wear OS 5 for enhanced performance and battery life.
Vimeo joins YouTube and TikTok in launching new AI content labels
Vimeo has joined TikTok, YouTube, and Meta in introducing AI content labels, requiring creators to disclose when videos feature AI-generated realistic content. This move aims to prevent confusion between real and synthetic media created by advanced AI tools. Vimeo's updated terms ensure clarity by distinguishing AI-generated content from animations or videos with obvious visual effects. Creators can now voluntarily label their videos using checkboxes indicating AI involvement in audio, visuals, or both. Vimeo plans to develop automated systems to detect AI-generated content in the future, enhancing transparency further.
